Vultures keep environment clean and prevent bad smell and diseases from spreading to humans and animals. They eat carcasses that may contain infectious virus that would otherwise infect other animals and spread to people.
However,
vulture population is declining at an alarming rate. Based on the result of
2018 vulture census conducted at vulture restaurants in Cambodia, vulture
population was estimated less than 130 individuals. Thus, we need to join
efforts in protecting vultures.
Together we
can protect vultures by not eating bush-meat and not using poison to kill
wildlife.
